What is a 501(c)(3) charity?
Being a 501(c)(3) charity means the charity has been approved by the IRS.
Which organizations can be sponsored?
To be considered for a donation the organization must serve the Greater Venice area and must be a 501(c) (3) charity. National charities may only be considered if the donation is going to a local chapter and will be used locally. The charity cannot be political in nature.
Is my contribution tax deductible? How do I get my tax receipt?
Yes, your contribution is eligible for a tax deduction. Checks are written directly to the local charity NOT to 100 Women Who Care.
May I send the donation to the charity myself? Why do you have to send it on my behalf?
The goal of 100+ Women Who Care Greater Venice is to make one large collective donation on behalf of the entire membership. We know $10,000 will make a big impact in our community.
How do I vote if I cannot attend the meeting:
In order to vote you must be present at the meeting and current in your contributions to previous selected charities.

May my employer match my contribution?
Yes, in many instances your employer may match your contribution dollar for dollar. Contact your employer to see if they have a Matching Gift Program.
Can I bring a friend to the meeting who is not signed up?
Of course! In order to vote she will need to complete a commitment form prior to the start of the meeting.
